FUSI HORIZON DALAM DALIL TIFA: DAKWAH ISLAM DAN KOSMOLOGI LOKAL DALAM TRADISI LISAN TERNATE
Fusion of Horizons in Dalil Tifa: Islamic Da'wah and Local Cosmology in Ternate Oral Tradition
Abstract
Dalil Tifa is an oral tradition of the Ternate community, rich in Islamic dakwah messages conveyed through culturally embedded metaphors. Despite its long history, systematic analysis of its theological content using modern philosophical hermeneutics remains limited. This study aims to identify the Islamic da’wah messages in Dalil Tifa, examine the role of metaphors as vehicles for theological communication, and assess the relevance of cultural-based da’wah. A qualitative approach is employed using Gadamerian hermeneutics, incorporating the concepts of horizon fusion (Horizontverschmelzung), history of effects (Wirkungsgeschichte), and productive prejudice (Vorurteil). Texts are collected through document studies and in-depth interviews with local elders and Islamic scholars. Findings reveal three dimensions of da’wah: (1) creed, reinforcing tawhid through metaphors of nature and local cosmology; (2) ethics, formulating social morality grounded in Islamic values; and (3) adat-religion integration, embedding Sharia principles within Ternate customs through the principle of adat matoto agama. Horizon fusion demonstrates that Dalil Tifa functions as a viable model of culturally grounded da’wah relevant for contemporary Islamic practice in Eastern Indonesia
